Three ropes hang from a bar. The #1 rope has a knot, while the other two hang straight.
The magician passes the apparatus behind back, and when it returns to view, the #1 rope is straight but the #3 rope is knotted!
He passes the apparatus again behind his back, and when it returns to audience view, the knot has jumped from #3 back to #1!

After many repeats, the audience begins to believe that he was only flipping the bar backwards behind his back.

Therefore, to prove this magical power, he performs the next move in front of their eyes: amazingly, the knot jumps from #1 rope to #2!

He then unties the knot from #2, so all ropes are straight.

Finally, as a demonstration of his incredibly powerful gift for magic, all ropes change from straight to knotted!!
