Latest item from Ton Onosaka, the instructions by Max Maven!
The performer introduces several intriguing props: a large felt square, on which is printed a circular chart with the numbers one through sixteen in random order; a small piece of card showing the numbers one through sixteen in a grid formation; a dice-like cube, bearig a different ESP symbol on each side; an opaque paper cup, and a small spinner with an arrow.
A spectator is invited to shake the cube inside the cup, then to invert the cup so that no one knows how the cube has landed (i.e., which symbol is now on top).
The spectator now places the spinner in the center of the circular chart, and spins it. When the rotation stops, the number to which the arrow is now pointing is noted. For example, we'll say the number is Ten.
The cup is lifted, revealing the hitherto unknown target symbol atop the cube. It is, for example, the wave. The cube, still wave-side-up, is placed onto the square labeled ten on the small card.
The spinner is put aside. The felt chart is turned over. On the other side is an assortment of ESP symbols, in a grid formation. Using the number grid as a guide, the performer counts to the tenth symbol.
Amazingly, it is the wave!
