Can you figure out this Puzzle Magic?

The magician shows a jumbo playing card, which has been cut into pieces.
These are assembled into a complete card --- but there is a surprising problem, for the last piece won't fit, until it is turned face-down.

Now, all of the pieces are turned over, and the puzzle is reassembled.
As expected, one piece must be turned face-up in order to complete the card --- but it is a different piece than before.

Finally, the pieces are all turned face-up again, and this time the card is completed with all of the pieces facing in the same direction!!
