Please read carefully before you purchase this product, it is very important to know.
This “SAWA’S CHECKMATE” was the products sold back in 80’s.
One of the parts, the rectangle shaped tube is made of plastic. Because of this product is the original one from almost 30 years ago and the nature of the plastic material, it is been fragile.
Specially, the plastic tube will get the impact from solid knight chess piece every time when the knight chess piece penetrates the metal chess plate and drop into the plastic tube. In many cases that impact gives crack on the bottom of the plastic tube.
To avoid that happen as much as possible, we have attached the protective sheet on the bottom of the plastic tube (please see the picture). In that case, the protective sheet should absorb the majority of the impact. Of course it still may damage if you drop and shake the knight piece too hard but hope it will not be happen by reading this little caution.
Again, this product is in the original package and original piece from 80’s. The package is old and slightly damaged. The product itself is brand new, however, as we mentioned above, due to the condition of the plastic material, you will receive the product with protective sheet attached inside the plastic tube.
If you want to keep this product not for actual use but just want to keep it as collection and don’t want us to attach the protective sheet on the bottom of plastic tube, please let us know at the time of purchase. Please leave us comments at the time of check out. Otherwise, you will receive the product with protective sheet attached. But please remember, the package is naturally opened from the age (The packaging glue is not gluing together anymore because of the age).
