You introduce a deck of fortune-telling cards and explain that an ancient numerological principle will be used to generate two fortunes — one for the spectator, one for yourself.
The spectator chooses a number and follows a simple sorting procedure. The performer never touches the outcome.
Two cards are ultimately selected.
First, the card destined for the performer is revealed. Astonishingly, it describes a subtle action the performer has been unconsciously making throughout the entire routine.
Then comes the impossible finale.
The spectator turns over their own card — and discovers a prediction that could not have been avoided, despite every apparent freedom of choice.
