You borrow a handkerchief from a spectator, and imprison it between two plates and a small piece of paper.
Everything is held secure with two clips.
Now you impale the borrowed hanky with a pen!
When you remove the plates, the paper is pierced, but the handkerchief is magically unharmed!!
