Apparently these coins are solid brass so if you're going to steel wool them (as I mentioned in the previous review that I said was my last) be prepared to polish them a lot (or let them go darker if you want). I apologize for all these reviews but I want to make sure that whomever's buying them knows what they're getting. In hindsight, I would almost recommend not taking away the finish and just polishing them if you notice the finish peeling off.
