This really is a bargain for the illusion you get. The ribbon appears to melt through the ring and after both have previously been handed for examination. Of course a little subtlety is needed to switch the ungimmicked ring with the gimmicked one which is no big deal. I simply hand the ring out, receive it back, reach into my performance case to obtain the ribbon and switch the ring during that time. The gimmick portion of the ring is hidden in my hand as I hand the ribbon for examination. Now without any suspicious moves whatsoever I proceed to literally cause the ribbon to melt through the ring like a hot knife through butter! Just think of the impact that has on a spectator's senses. It is truly a beautiful thing!
