The magician has the audience choose two cards from a deck, look at them, and place them face down on the table.
He then displays a small frame and shows that both sides are blank. He holds the frame over the first card and asks the audience which card they chose.
When he flips over the frame, the name of the card has magically appeared. The magician then holds the frame over the second card and asks the audience to name that card. When he turns the frame over, the name of the second card is magically revealed in the frame.
But the miracle is not finished yet.
He flips the frame over and the writing on the first side has disappeared, and when he flips the frame over again, the writing on the second side has disappeared.
This X-Frame routine is only a sample. You can expand on it to make it more magical and mysterious.
