Magician shows 6 dice and asks the spectators to examine them.
Now he holds 3 dice in each hand… In this position, it’s easy for the dice stack to drop if he loosens his grip or the dice lost balance. When he brings his hands together, the dice stack penetrates each other and now linked.
You may be have seen this effect with cigarette, toothpick, etc…
