Traditionally for effects like this, apparently people would get the membrane from a ducks egg, and then keep it in their mouth before the effect (usually egg on fan).
The Perfect egg allows you to get the same effect without all the trouble and mess. Looks real, and almost as import, it 'inflates' nice and slowly, which I think looks far more magical.
