My wife, who dislikes magic, HAD to grab this and play with it and even then, it took her some time to figure out!
I thought this would be an interesting kind of optical illusion, but now can see how it, with a good story line, could actually be a magical effect. You could, for example, start with the box lids misplaced and say I got these long-stem roses (pointing at the long box with the blue lid on it) and a new clock my wife has wanted (pointing at the square box with the pink lid on it) but they just don't seem quite right . . . Oh, I see, this long lid belongs on the square box, and this square lid goes on the box with the roses . . . now they seem packed perfectly!
Nice effect!!
