This is a great little trick. Too often animation tricks require a complex set up and IT or other things. This is so easy to do. I think it is a quick throw in that will surprise and delight your audience, not a lengthy trick. I think folks would catch on if you displayed it too long.
I keep it in a paper bag and reach in and it "goes crazy" all over for 3-5 seconds then I grab it and put it back on the bag and say that I haven't trained that silk yet and that I'll have to move on to another trick. It's quick, it's visual, it packs flat and plays big, and it is easy to use and inexpensive! How can you beat that?
When performing, as I think you'd figure out, keep it moving quickly, and show it briefly, as I said, and the method will not be detectible.
